Job summary

WithumSmith+Brown, PC's Business Enterprise Advisors (BEA) team is seeking a manager for our Lincolnshire, IL office in a hybrid role requiring three days in the office. The candidate will analyze financial statements, identify cost-saving opportunities, and guide engagement staff.

You will lead cross-functional collaboration with tax, assurance, and advisory groups, mentor staff, review compilations, and participate in client proposals to grow the business.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related business field; CPA license preferred
• Minimum 5 years in a local or mid-sized CPA firm or tax consulting; food & beverage experience a plus
• Experience handling high volume financial statements under tight deadlines
• Strong GAAP knowledge and ability to stay current on law changes
• Excellent analytical, organizational, project management and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Analyze financial statements, assess risks, and recommend cost reductions, revenue enhancements, and profit maximization
• Identify bottlenecks, streamline processes, and suggest improvements to boost productivity and reduce costs
• Develop and implement change management plans during organizational changes
• Supervise and mentor engagement staff, fostering open communication with partners and managers
• Inspire and retain staff by assigning challenging work and providing development opportunities
• Review and supervise compilation and review level financial statements
• Collaborate with tax, assurance, accounting, and advisory teams to fully service clients
• Stay current on technical developments and evaluate impact on clients' business and financial position
• Participate in client proposals and identify new business development opportunities
