WithumSmith+Brown PC in Lincolnshire, IL, is seeking a Business Enterprise Advisor – Accounting Supervisor for a hybrid role with three days in the office weekly. You will supervise staff, review compilation and review-level financial statements, and collaborate with tax, assurance and advisory teams to fully service clients.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in accounting, CPA is preferred, and has at least four years in a CPA firm or tax practice, with leadership experience.

Business Enterprise Advisor – Accounting Supervisor

Withum’s Business Enterprise Advisors (BEA) team is seeking an accounting supervisor to join our Lincolnshire, IL office. This hybrid position requires being in the office three days a week and supports a wide range of tax, assurance, and advisory services for private and public companies.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze financial statements, assess risks, and provide recommendations on cost reduction, revenue enhancement, and profit maximization.
• Identify bottlenecks, streamline processes, and suggest improvements to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
• Develop and implement change‑management plans to ensure smooth transitions during organizational changes.
• Supervise, train, and support engagement staff, fostering open communication with the engagement partner and manager.
• Inspire, develop, mentor, and retain staff while assigning challenging projects.
• Review and supervise the preparation of compilation and review‑level financial statements.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with tax, assurance, accounting, and advisory groups to identify opportunities to fully service clients.
• Remain current on technical and industry developments and standards, evaluating impact on clients’ businesses and finances.
• Participate in client proposals and identify new business‑development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a business‑related field.
• CPA license preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in a local or mid‑sized CPA firm or a tax consulting practice; food & beverage industry experience is a plus.
• Experience working with a high volume of financial statements under tight deadlines.
• Strong technical accounting background with a curiosity to stay current on all key law changes.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, project‑management, and technical skills.
• Exceptional client‑service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships.
• Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing projects in a rapidly growing, fast‑paced, interactive, results‑based team environment.
• Strong leadership, training, and mentoring skills coupled with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.

Compensation & Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $90,000–$110,000, plus a competitive benefits package and a bonus program based on individual and firm performance.
