Job summary

Baylor University is seeking a Senior Accountant/Accounting Manager for the Project Portfolio Management (PPM) area to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with GAAP and university policies. This role supports month-end close, sponsored programs, and faculty fund accounting, with opportunities to contribute to process improvements.

The position requires a bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience, with a master's preferred and a CPA required for the Accounting Manager

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
• Five years of relevant accounting experience.
• Master's degree preferred.
• CPA required for Accounting Manager level.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate monthly PPM subledger close and ensure GL integration.
• Reconcile sponsored programs and faculty fund subledgers with GL.
• Perform detailed reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
• Research discrepancies and coordinate corrective actions with stakeholders.
• Prepare financial reports and supporting schedules for sponsored programs.
• Assist with F&A and Fringe Benefit Rate proposals and ensure compliance.
• Conduct financial and variance analyses for strategic decision-making.
• Support month-end and year-end close activities.
• Oversee sponsored programs, grants, and faculty funds in the Oracle PPM system.
• Review project structures to ensure proper recording and reporting.
