Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance is required.
• At least five years of government or general accounting experience.
• Knowledge of GAAP and GASB is required.
• Auditing experience is a plus.
• Strong data analysis, confidentiality, and reporting skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and with a team.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internet.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR).
• Assist with year-end closing and audit process.
• Maintain and monitor fixed assets records.
• Calculate depreciation schedules.
• Prepare work papers in revenue and receivables.
• Prepare and monitor recurring payment schedules.
• Record year-end accruals.
• Prepare and key journal entries.
• Document finance procedures and identify improvements.
• Reconcile balance sheet and bank accounts; investigate discrepancies.
• Review internal processes with the Manager of General Ledger Financial Reporting.
• Ensure internal controls and data integrity.
• Collaborate with other departments to obtain resources.
• Assist other staff as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
