Richmond Behavioral Health Authority (RBHA) is seeking an experienced Accountant to apply accounting principles to financial records, reporting, and compliance, with autonomy to support budgeting, audits, and analysis across departments. You will manage month-end and year-end closings, ensure GAAP compliance, and assist with external audits, while guiding junior staff.

This role requires a Bachelor's in accounting or finance, 3–5 years of experience, and strong Excel and financial systems

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of GAAP, financial analysis, and compliance.
  • Skill in preparing complex reports and reconciliations.
  • Ability to interpret regulations and apply accounting standards.
  • Ability to support strategic financial planning.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports.
  • Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and agency policies.
  • Support budget development and monitoring.
  • Assist with external audits and regulatory reporting.
  • Provide guidance to junior accounting staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.
