Job summary

GreyOrange is expanding its finance team in the US to support rapid growth. The Senior Accountant will own revenue accounting under ASC 606, manage commissions and inventory costing, and drive process improvements across the accounting function.

The role requires 8–10 years in accounting, a BS in Accounting, and strong US GAAP knowledge; CPA or public accounting is a plus, with NetSuite and Salesforce experience being ideal.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• 8–10 years of accounting experience, startup exposure preferred.
• CPA certification or public accounting experience is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, revenue recognition and GL.
• Proficient with ERP systems and advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end revenue accounting under ASC 606, incl. rev review and allocation.
• Manage sales commission accounting and amortization of contract costs.
• Oversee inventory accounting, costing, cycle counts and reserves.
• Manage cost accounting for materials and SaaS products.
• Coordinate internal/external audits and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Drive process improvements and automation within finance.

Role: Senior Accountant

To support the growth of our company, we are building a lean, automation and AI first finance and accounting team. We are looking for experienced, thoughtful, and humble problem solvers, who have worked in start-up companies before, are ready to roll up their sleeves to get the job done and spend every day wondering about and experimenting with ways to evolve themselves and our function further.

Key Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end revenue accounting under ASC 606, including contract review, identification of performance obligations, transaction price allocation, and revenue recognition for hardware, SaaS and RaaS arrangements.
• Manage sales commission accounting, including commission calculations, expense recognition, and amortization of costs to obtain a contract in accordance with ASC 606-10-25.
• Oversee inventory accounting for material/hardware products, including standard costing, cycle count reconciliation, and inventory valuation and reserves.
• Manage cost accounting for both material and SaaS products, including cost of goods sold analysis, product/project-level margin reporting, and cost variance analysis.
• Manage capitalization and amortization of internally generated software development costs (R&D), including project stage assessment, identification of capitalizable costs, and determination of useful life, in accordance with US GAAP (ASC 350-40).
• Coordinate & manage Audits related to financial statement and controls testing
• Preparation and review of Balance sheet account reconciliation
• Drive and partner with external/ internal teams for process improvements, automation

Requirements

• Strong financial concepts, knowledge of accounting principles, and clarity on consolidation
• B.A in Accounting with 8-10 years of experience, including working at a Start Up,
• CPA and/or Accounting Firm Experience will be a plus
• Strong, working knowledge of NetSuite is required; Salesforce is a plus
• Sound knowledge of US GAAP, Revenue, general ledger, multi-country, multi-currency
• Self starters, Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills alongside good IT proficiency; Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
• Experience with AI applications in finance / accounting will be a plus
