Job summary

MotivHealth is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to maintain GAAP and STAT financial reporting, lead month-end and year-end close, prepare accurate reconciliations, and ensure the integrity of the general ledger across the organization.

In this role you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, assist with budgeting and forecasting, support external audits, and mentor junior staff while upholding internal controls and company policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
• Experience with STAT reporting preferred.
• Experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial statements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems; NetSuite and Sage a plus.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• CPA license preferred.
• Public accounting experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual GAAP and STAT financial statements.
• Lead the month-end and year-end close process, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure accuracy of transactions.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Prepare supporting schedules for STAT and GAAP audits and coordinate requests.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and policies.
• Assist with STAT regulatory reporting.
• Support process improvements to streamline accounting procedures and increase efficiency.
• Mentor and guide junior accounting staff.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on financial reporting needs.
• Assist with special projects and other accounting duties.
