Job summary

Serve Robotics in Los Angeles is seeking an Accountant to maintain accurate financial records, close books, and prepare reports. The role focuses on GAAP compliance, SOX controls, and effective internal controls across the accounting cycle.

The Accountant will oversee reconciliations, journal entries, and the general ledger, while supporting audits and cross-functional collaboration to resolve discrepancies and improve processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent practical accounting experience.
• 5+ years of full accounting experience.
• Proficiency with accounting software such as Xero or NetSuite and intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Working knowledge of GAAP and a strong understanding of Sarbanes Oxley compliance processes, internal controls, and financial reporting requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
• Perform account reconciliations, including bank, accounts payable, and accounts receivable reconciliations, and resolve identified discrepancies.
• Prepare and post journal entries and maintain an accurate and current general ledger.
• Review, classify, and record expenses in accordance with company policies and applicable budget guidelines.
• Oversee key accounting processes, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, inventory, accruals, and prepaid expenses.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and providing timely, accurate responses to requests.
• Monitor accounting activities for compliance with GAAP, SOX requirements, internal controls, and established company procedures.
• Identify and recommend process improvements that strengthen controls and increase the efficiency and accuracy of accounting operations.
