Job summary

Serve Robotics Inc is seeking an experienced Accountant to support the company's accounting operations, maintain financial records, close activities, and prepare reports in line with GAAP and SOX requirements.

You will partner with cross-functional teams, oversee reconciliations and journal entries, manage internal controls, and contribute to process improvements in a fast-paced robotics startup environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent practical accounting experience.
• 5+ years of full accounting experience.
• Proficiency with accounting software such as Xero or NetSuite and intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Working knowledge of GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, internal controls, and financial reporting requirements.
• Strong organizational, time management, communication, and collaboration skills.
• High degree of accuracy and analytical ability, including the ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Progress toward CPA certification.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
• Perform account reconciliations, including bank, accounts payable, and accounts receivable reconciliations, and resolve identified discrepancies.
• Prepare and post journal entries and maintain an accurate and current general ledger.
• Review, classify, and record expenses in accordance with company policies and applicable budget guidelines.
• Oversee key accounting processes, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, inventory, accruals, and prepaid expenses.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and providing timely, accurate responses to requests.
• Monitor accounting activities for compliance with GAAP, SOX requirements, internal controls, and established company procedures.
• Identify and recommend process improvements that strengthen controls and increase the efficiency and accuracy of accounting operations.
