Job summary

The Senior Accountant at The Catholic Health Association of the United States will own the day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, close, reconciliations, AR, and related activities. You will ensure accuracy, controls, and timely financial information to support leadership decisions.

You will collaborate with the Senior Director of Finance on reporting, budgeting, audits, and process improvements, including system integrations and data integrity across Sage Intacct and other

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong GAAP knowledge; nonprofit accounting experience preferred.
• Experience owning or leading a financial close process.
• Experience with Sage Intacct strongly preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate discrepancies and independently drive issues to resolution.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Manage the general ledger and prepare/review journal entries and reconciliations.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable activities.
• Oversee revenue accounting, including revenue recognition and deferred revenue.
• Maintain data integrity across Sage Intacct and other systems.
• Prepare and analyze monthly financial reporting and variances.
• Partner with leadership to translate financial information into insights.
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
