Job summary

thyssenkrupp nucera USA Inc is hiring a Senior Accountant in Houston with 7+ years of accounting experience. The role is hybrid, requiring four days in the office and one day remote, and focuses on accurate financial records and GAAP/IFRS compliance.

You will manage journal entries, reconciliations, financial reporting, and audits, while mentoring junior staff and supporting tax filings as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of Accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP/IFRS and financial reporting.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly close process.
• Prepare and review journal entries, including accruals, allocations, reclassifications, and adjusting entries.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and tie them to subledgers (AR, AP, Fixed Assets, Cash).
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and resolve reconciling items.
• Support internal and external audits with documentation and explanations.
• Coordinate with tax advisors and support tax filings.
• Mentor junior accounting staff and support ad hoc analysis and projects.
