Job summary

Bradford Health Services in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Senior Accountant to strengthen our corporate accounting team. You will ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain GAAP compliance, and oversee general ledger activities, bank reconciliations, and balance sheet preparation.

The role supports budgeting, forecasting, and process improvements across the organization, with opportunities to optimize systems and data integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and full cycle accounting processes.
• Proficiency in accounting systems and software, including Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with bank reconciliations, GL entries, balance sheets, fixed assets, and month-end closes.

Responsibilities

• Execute daily accounting operations including general ledger and bank reconciliations
• Perform monthly entries and reconciliations for balance sheet accounts to include items such as fixed assets and leases
• Support preparation of balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting principles
• Support the implementation and maintenance of accounting systems to improve efficiency and data integrity
• Coordinate month-end and year-end closing processes and ensure timely financial reporting
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements by supporting regular audits and process reviews
• Continually assess internal controls and provide suggestions for identified improvements
• Other duties as assigned
