Job summary

DairyFarmers of America (DFA) is seeking an experienced accountant to support complex accounting processes for divisions, plants, and platforms. You will provide guidance, maintain timely financial information, and assist with month-end close, journal entries, variance analyses, budgeting, forecasting, inventory valuation, and internal/external reporting.

Strong GAAP knowledge and Excel skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of US GAAP.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Clear communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Assist in monthly close processes and ensure journal entries are timely and GAAP-compliant.
• Prepare journal entries and reconciliations with appropriate supporting documentation.
• Produce regular financial analyses and reports for internal/external disclosures.
• Review financials for discrepancies, investigate variances, and propose corrective actions.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and audits, maintaining policy compliance.
• Lead or participate in accounting projects and process-improvement efforts.
