Job summary

Chicago Community Loan Fund is seeking a Senior Accountant to provide advanced accounting support, oversee subsidiary accounting, intercompany activity, and assist with monthly and annual reporting.

You will review reconciliations and journal entries for GAAP compliance, manage program accounting and grant reporting, support audits, and assist the CFO in preparing financial statements.

Qualifications

• Manage subsidiary accounting, intercompany transactions, consolidation, and prepare subsidiary financial statements.
• Review reconciliations, journal entries, and schedules for GAAP compliance.
• Review and approve Accounts Payable per internal policies.
• Own program accounting: track and report program revenues and expenses.
• Ensure program grants are recorded/drawn down per grant agreements and budgets.
• Process journal entries and reconciliations for complex items (e.g., loan loss reserves).
• Assist CFO/Director of Accounting with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Research changes/ventures and their GAAP impact.
• Coordinate data for annual audits with external auditors.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting practices and procedures.
• Perform other tasks as required.
