The Crown Family YMCA in Chicago, IL is seeking a Senior Accountant to support financial integrity, grant compliance, and capital asset management. You will perform reconciliations, manage restricted funds, and collaborate with grants and program teams.

Under supervision of the VP of Accounting/Controller, you will help with audits, reporting, and internal controls, ensuring adherence to nonprofit standards and donor requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3–5 years or more in nonprofit accounting preferred.
• CPA designation desirable but not required.

Responsabilités

• Prepare journal entries for cash activity, investments, and fixed assets.
• Perform monthly reconciliations for bank, investment, and grant accounts.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close and financial reporting.
• Support audit activities and grant compliance reporting.
• Strengthen internal controls over cash handling, investments, and CapEx.
