Job summary

Campbell Transportation Company seeks a Senior Accountant to provide leadership in accounting functions in our Houston, TX office. You will assist the Controller with accounting services for internal and external customers, help implement accounting principles, and support ad hoc reporting and departmental initiatives.

The role reports to the Controller and requires strong Excel, GAAP knowledge, and team leadership. Remote work is not indicated; the position is based in Houston.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting.
• 4+ years of professional accounting experience with team leadership.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables).
• Working knowledge of GAAP reporting.
• Excellent critical thinking and analytical abilities.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Familiarity with accounting software and adaptability to new tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist Controller with external financial statement preparation and monthly reporting.
• Maintain fixed asset system including additions, disposals and depreciation.
• Support lease accounting to ensure GAAP compliance.
• Contribute to boat cost allocations, inventory, revenue accruals and deferrals.
• Lead daily accounting operations and financial reporting processes.
• Prepare monthly journal entries with focus on close and adjustments.
• Support internal/external audits and cooperate with Management.
