Job summary

Astrophysics Inc., headquartered in City of Industry, CA, is seeking a Senior Accountant to oversee core accounting functions and support monthly closings. You will manage reconciliations, fixed assets, inventory, and financial reporting, coordinating close processes and assisting audits to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

The role requires 3–5 years of accounting experience, a Bachelor's degree in accounting or related fields, strong Excel and ERP skills, and a proactive, collaborative approach

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of accounting experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to research discrepancies and solve problems.
• Excellent Excel and MS Office skills.
• Experience with ERP systems.
• Knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS.
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal and cross-department collaboration.
• International accounting exposure and IT knowledge a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and complete monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring deadlines are met and financial information is accurate, complete, and timely.
• Prepare, review, and maintain monthly balance sheet account reconciliations, including intercompany accounts, researching and resolving reconciling items in a timely manner.
• Prepare and record complex journal entries and assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Oversee and support the daily accounting functions of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Staff Accountant activities to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with established policies and procedures.
• Administer fixed asset accounting, including additions, disposals, depreciation, amortization, and the implementation and maintenance of effective internal controls over fixed assets.
• Maintain inventory standard costs, review inventory adjustment accounts, coordinate cycle count and physical inventory activities with Operations, and analyze inventory variances for appropriate resolution.
• Prepare financial reports, dashboards, and supporting schedules for management while assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Support internal, external, and tax audits by preparing required schedules, providing supporting documentation, and responding to audit inquiries.
• Special projects and assignments as directed by the Controller.
• Comply at all times with Astrophysics' security policy including protecting confidential information, reporting any actions that conflict with that policy and informing management of any unusual activity or behavior.
