Job summary

Astrophysics Inc. is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our headquarters in City of Industry, CA. The Senior Accountant will oversee key accounting functions, coordinate monthly close, and support audits, budgeting, and process improvements.

Responsibilities include reconciliations, journal entries, fixed asset accounting, and inventory control, ensuring accuracy and timeliness under US GAAP. Strong Excel skills and ERP experience are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of accounting experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to research discrepancies and solve problems.
• Exceptional Excel and MS Office skills.
• Experience with ERP systems.
• Knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS.

• International accounting exposure and IT knowledge a plus.

• Maintain inventory standard costs and coordinate cycle counts.
• Prepare financial reports, dashboards, and schedules for management.
• Support audits, budgeting, and financial analysis.
• Assist with special projects as directed by the Controller.
• Comply with security policy and protect confidential information.

We are a fast-growing, dynamic company seeking a Senior Accountant to join our headquarters in City of Industry, CA.

Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing key accounting functions, including account reconciliations, fixed assets, inventory accounting, and financial reporting. They coordinate the monthly close process and support audits, budgeting, and process improvements to ensure accurate and timely financial information.

Essential Functions:

• Coordinate and complete monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring deadlines are met and financial information is accurate, complete, and timely.
• Prepare, review, and maintain monthly balance sheet account reconciliations, including intercompany accounts, researching and resolving reconciling items in a timely manner.
• Prepare and record complex journal entries and assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Oversee and support the daily accounting functions of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Staff Accountant activities to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with established policies and procedures.
• Administer fixed asset accounting, including additions, disposals, depreciation, amortization, and the implementation and maintenance of effective internal controls over fixed assets.
• Maintain inventory standard costs, review inventory adjustment accounts, coordinate cycle count and physical inventory activities with Operations, and analyze inventory variances for appropriate resolution.
• Prepare financial reports, dashboards, and supporting schedules for management while assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Support internal, external, and tax audits by preparing required schedules, providing supporting documentation, and responding to audit inquiries.
• Special projects and assignments as directed by the Controller.
• Comply at all times with Astrophysics’ security policy including protecting confidential information, reporting any actions that conflict with that policy and informing management of any unusual activity or behavior.

Education and Experience:

• 3-5 years of accounting experience
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
• Strong attention to detail and ability to research discrepancies and solve problems
• Exceptional with Excel and other MS Office skills (Outlook, Work, PowerPoint)
• Experience with ERP systems
• Knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to use tact and diplomacy with other departments
• International accounting exposure and IT knowledge a plus
• Excellent verbal and written communication

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

• Exempt
• Full-Time
• Hours: 8am – 5pm
• (Hours subject to change depending on the needs of the business)
