Job summary

Berry Aviation, Inc. seeks a Senior Accountant to support accounting and financial reporting activities, including general ledger accounting, financial statement preparation, and account reconciliations.

The role collaborates with Accounting and Finance leadership to ensure GAAP compliance, timely reporting, budgeting and forecasting assistance, and audit support for internal, government, and regulatory reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible accounting or finance experience.
• CPA designation or MBA preferred.
• Public accounting experience preferred.
• Experience supporting internal and external audits preferred.
• Experience working with DCAA, DCMA, or other government audit or regulatory organizations preferred.
• Experience within government contracting, aviation, defense, or similarly regulated environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with monthly financial close processes, including journal entries and schedules.
• Record, review, verify and consolidate financial transactions for accurate accounting records.
• Prepare general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations monthly.
• Maintain fixed asset register and assist with asset additions/disposals.
• Prepare fixed asset rollforwards and support monthly.
• Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements (balance sheets, income statements).
• Ensure GAAP compliance and adherence to company policies.
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities with data validation.
• Assist with internal and regulatory audits (DCAA/DCMA).
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
