Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Permanent Sr. Accountant to join our rapidly scaling startup in Durham, North Carolina. You will oversee daily financial transactions, close monthly and year-end, prepare budgets, and support forecasting in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of accounting experience, strong GAAP knowledge, and excellent analytical, numerical, and leadership skills. CPA is preferred and Netsuite proficiency is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree will be considered a plus.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
• CPA certification is preferred.
• Proficiency in Netsuite accounting software.
• Experience in the insurance industry is a plus.
• Strong GAAP knowledge.
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
• The ability to handle time-sensitive tasks.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing daily transactions, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
• Participating in tax audits and payroll preparations.
• Preparing budgeting reports and forecasting revenues.
• Managing month-end and year-end closing.
• Monitoring the daily performance of the accounting department.
• Organizing financial data into usable information and maintain updated records.
• Tracking the progress of financial and accounting objectives.
• Establishing and maintaining fiscal files and records to document transactions.
• Ensuring compliance with state revenue service.
• Using Netsuite for various accounting operations.
