Job summary

A finance and accounting recruiting firm is looking for a motivated Senior Accountant to join a growing finance team. This role offers exposure across the accounting function within a fast-paced organization. The ideal candidate will prepare accurate financial records and oversee accounts payable processes while collaborating with teams. Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of professional accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals and financial statements.
  • Experience with NetSuite preferred but not required.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency (lookups, pivot tables, and complex formulas).

  • Able to operate in an environment with shifting priorities and evolving processes.
  • Proactive, detail‑oriented, and eager to learn.
  • Able to collaborate effectively with teams across multiple functions.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and general ledger activity.
  • Review monthly account reconciliations including cash and accounts payable.
  • Oversee the accounts payable process and vendor payments.
  • Coordinate and supervise work completed by offshore accounting partners.
  • Lead or support cross‑functional initiatives, including system implementations and process enhancements.
  • Develop customized and ad‑hoc financial reports for leadership and internal stakeholders.
  • Apply and explain U.S. GAAP concepts across accounting activities.
  • Handle day‑to‑day bookkeeping and transactional accounting within NetSuite.

Job description

Our client is seeking a motivated Senior Accountant to join a growing finance team and report directly to the Controller. This role offers broad exposure across the accounting function within a fast‑paced organization and industry. The ideal candidate is eager to deepen their technical accounting expertise while taking on meaningful responsibility and contributing to process improvements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, schedules, and general ledger activity
  • Perform and review monthly account reconciliations, including cash, credit cards, prepaid expenses, accruals, fixed assets, accounts receivable, and accounts payable
  • Manage and oversee the accounts payable process, including invoice review, vendor payments, payment tracking, and related reporting
  • Coordinate and supervise work completed by offshore accounting partners
  • Lead or support cross‑functional initiatives, including system implementations and process enhancements
  • Develop customized and ad‑hoc financial reports for leadership and internal stakeholders
  • Apply and explain U.S. GAAP concepts across accounting activities
  • Handle day‑to‑day bookkeeping and transactional accounting within NetSuite
