Job summary

City of Pompano Beach seeks a Senior Accountant to manage fixed assets, grants, and long‑term debt in the Finance Department. You will ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with applicable standards, supporting the integrity of the City’s financial data.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required.
• Minimum 4 years of accounting experience; municipal background preferred.
• Experience managing fixed-asset portfolios and preparing journal entries.
• Proficiency with financial software and MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Maintain fixed asset records, capitalization, depreciation, rollforwards.
• Track grant revenues, prepare SEFA and audits support.
• Manage long‑term debt records and debt schedules.
• Set up GL accounts, close monthly/yearly, prepare analyses.
• Support policies, procedures, and department goals.
