The City of Belleview is seeking a qualified accounting professional to manage complex accounting cycles, including payroll, grants, projects, and capital assets, and to support the period close and annual audit. The role applies accounting judgment and coaches transaction staff.

Responsibilities include payroll processing, debt scheduling, grant and project accounting, capital asset management, journal entries, and assisting with budget development.

Qualifications

• Use financial systems and spreadsheets accurately.
• Maintain clear supporting records.
• Communicate professionally with City employees, vendors, auditors, and the public.
• Protect confidential information, meet deadlines and follow City policy and applicable accounting standards.

Responsabilités

• Process biweekly payroll using approved time data and reconcile payroll liabilities.
• Maintain debt register and payment schedules; monitor due dates and reconcile balances.
• Maintain grant and project accounting schedules and flag compliance issues.
• Maintain capital asset and construction in progress schedules and reconcile with the GL.
• Prepare complex recurring journal entries, analyses, audit schedules and year-end close support.
• Support budget development for assigned areas.
