Job summary

Colonial Group is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Finance team in a fast-paced fintech environment. The role focuses on month-end close, reconciliations, and reporting with an emphasis on improving processes through automation.

You will partner with business units, support audits, and collaborate with FP&A to align actuals with forecasts. A strong GAAP background and ERP experience are required for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• 4-6 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years focused on accruals, month-end close, and reconciliations or financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP.
• Experience in fintech, SaaS, or technology-driven industries preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle, SAP) strongly preferred.
• Exceptional attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across finance and non-finance teams.

Responsibilities

• Partner with business units to gather data, validate accrual assumptions, and ensure timely and accurate recognition of expenses.
• Perform detailed account reconciliations, variance analysis, and review supporting documentation to maintain accuracy and integrity of the general ledger.
• Support the month-end and quarter-end close process, ensuring deadlines are met and financial statements are accurate.
• Work closely with FP&A to align actuals with forecasts and budgets.
• Identify, design, and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and automation in assigned tasks.
• Assist with annual audits by preparing schedules, responding to auditor inquiries, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
