Job summary

CBRE is seeking a Senior Accountant to apply advanced accounting fundamentals to create, review and organize complex financial statements and reports. This role sits in the General Accounting function and focuses on developing and maintaining accounting processes and procedures.

The position requires 2–5 years of relevant experience, strong analytical abilities and proficiency with Microsoft Office. A discretionary bonus is available; CBRE values accuracy and timely delivery of financial data.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree preferred with 2-5 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination.
• Strong analytical and problem solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic accounting software usage.
• Ability to analyze data and apply sound judgment to precedents.
• Strong organizational skills and accuracy in financial work.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial documents including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow, budgets, and payroll.
• Maintain general ledger, ensure accuracy of taxes and financial data.
• Close month-end entries and reconcile balance sheets and P&L statements.
• Post to GL, review variances to budget and forecast changes.
• Review variance explanations and ensure data accuracy.
• Track accounts receivable and ensure proper payment recording; resolve issues.
• Assist with accounting system conversions or enhancements; educate peers.
• Evaluate billing data and submit cash applications; manage AR issues.
