Job summary

The Finish Line, Inc. is seeking a Senior Accountant to support accurate financial reporting, journal entries, reconciliations, and close processes.

You will partner with the Accounting Director/Manager to review work, strengthen controls, and help with monthly and year-end reporting and audits. You will collaborate with multiple departments to provide financial insights, analyze variances, assist with budgeting, and contribute to continuous process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, with a CPA preferred.
• 3-5 years of relevant work experience in accounting.
• CPA certification is preferred, along with experience in large ERP systems and analytical thinking.

Responsibilities

• Perform journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting documentation to ensure accurate financial records.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities and resolve variances.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements and schedules, explaining significant variances.
• Review Staff Accountant work and deliverables for accuracy and completeness.
• Train and mentor Staff Accountants on processes and reporting requirements.
• Identify process improvements to increase efficiency and strengthen controls.
• Collaborate across departments to support budgeting and reporting needs.
• Research and resolve discrepancies by reviewing transactions and documentation.
• Analyze financial trends and obligations to identify potential issues.
• Perform ad hoc accounting and financial analysis as requested by management.
• Support internal controls and coordinate with auditors for SSAE/GAAP compliance.
• Assist with interim and year-end audits, including schedules and auditor inquiries.
