Job summary

Our client (firstPRO, Inc) seeks a Senior Financial Reporting Accountant to join the Enterprise Financial Reporting team. This role offers broad exposure across Finance, Actuarial, Investments, and various business areas while developing expertise in insurance and financial services.

You will prepare and review quarterly and annual GAAP and Statutory financial statements and support external and management reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3+ years of accounting or financial reporting experience, preferably in public accounting or public company reporting.
• CPA or CPA-eligible preferred.
• Experience preparing financial statements and footnote disclosures.
• Strong technical accounting research and analytical skills.
• Exposure to internal controls over financial reporting.
• Financial services or insurance industry experience is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review GAAP and Statutory financial statements and external reports.
• Take ownership of report content, presentation, and supporting documentation.
• Prepare and review tie-out support from multiple departments.
• Coordinate with independent auditors during quarterly and annual reviews.
• Research and apply technical accounting requirements under GAAP and Statutory standards.
• Research and facilitate implementation of new accounting and reporting requirements.
• Coordinate quarterly internal financial results analysis.
• Execute internal controls and maintain documentation related to external reporting.
• Prepare accounting memos, policies, and technical accounting analyses.
• Research accounting implications of new or complex transactions.
• Stay current on developments in accounting and financial reporting and share knowledge with the broader team.
• Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives.
