The Senior Accountant at Lamoille County Mental Health Service Inc. in Morrisville, VT leads the financial reporting process, maintains records, and strengthens internal controls in support of program budgets and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities include preparing reports, coordinating with directors, ensuring GAAP compliance, overseeing audits, and developing robust accounting policies to safeguard agency resources.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3–8 years of related experience, preferably in health care.
• Previous supervisory experience required.
• Familiarity with GAAP and internal controls is preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Maintains agency financial records with integrity and timely information for management decisions.
• Reviews journals, inter-company reconciliations, month-end accruals, and investment/banking activity analyses.
• Prepares financial reports and budget forecasts, cash flow reports, and related summaries.
• Coordinates with program directors to review budgets and financials.
• Ensures adherence to GAAP and develops internal controls over accounting systems.
• Monitors and reports on performance of agency contracts and waivers, with regulatory reporting.
• Prepares for and participates in annual audits to ensure timely completion.
• Maintains knowledge of operating systems in the Finance department and suggests improvements.
• Writes and maintains accounting policies and procedures.
• Assists CFO/CEO/Board with special financial studies as requested.
