Job summary

Cher Co in Houston, TX is seeking a Senior Accountant to oversee financial reporting, general ledger activities, month-end and year-end close, and compliance with accounting standards.

You will prepare statements, manage reconciliations, assist with budgeting and forecasting, analyze data for management reports, support audits, and mentor junior staff while collaborating across departments. Strong Excel skills and ERP experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA/ACCA/CMA or equivalent certification preferred.
• 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years in a senior role.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Manage the month-end and year-end closing process.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Prepare bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Review journal entries and ensure compliance with policies.
• Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed assets.
• Prepare tax schedules and assist with tax filings.
• Support audits with documentation.
• Analyze financial data and prepare management reports.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and internal controls.
• Develop and improve accounting processes.
• Mentor and supervise junior staff; collaborate across departments.
