  • Research and resolve accounting questions and guide internal stakeholders.
  • Support system enhancements and reporting improvements across finance.

Job description

A well-established financial services organization is seeking a Senior Accounting Analyst to join its Finance and Accounting team. This role will support expense accounting, financial reporting, process improvement initiatives, and special projects while helping ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data within the organization's ERP environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys working with large datasets, improving processes, collaborating across departments, and taking ownership of project-based work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support expense accounting processes and ensure financial transactions are accurately recorded within the accounting system.
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports, expense studies, and ad hoc management reporting requests.
  • Partner with teams across Finance, Accounting, Actuarial, and other business units to support reporting, forecasting, and business initiatives.
  • Assist with expense analysis, vendor reporting, budgeting support, and historical trend reviews.
  • Maintain and enhance accounting procedures, account structures, mappings, and reporting processes.
  • Drive special projects and process improvement initiatives with minimal supervision.
  • Research and resolve accounting questions while providing guidance to internal stakeholders.
  • Support system enhancements, reporting improvements, and operational efficiencies across the finance function.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Relevant accounting, finance, or corporate reporting experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and financial data analysis.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Experience with expense accounting is preferred, though candidates with broader accounting backgrounds will also be considered.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working with ERP systems, particularly SAP environments.
  • Exposure to financial system implementations, upgrades, or process transformation initiatives.
  • Experience supporting reporting, planning, or budgeting functions.
  • Familiarity with business intelligence and reporting tools such as Power BI.
  • Background within insurance, financial services, or a large corporate accounting environment.
