Job summary

Nacubo is seeking a Senior Accountant to serve as a key technical accounting resource responsible for complex transactions, endowment and investment accounting, financial reporting, and audit support.

This role partners with university leadership, campus partners, auditors, tax advisors, and external stakeholders to ensure accurate reporting, regulatory compliance, and effective stewardship of Foundation assets.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles.
• Experience with endowment, investment, and fund accounting.
• Experience with audited financial statements and supporting disclosures.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reconciliation skills.
• Experience with ERP systems, financial system implementations, and process redesign.

Responsibilities

• Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements, supporting schedules, and footnote disclosures.
• Maintain and improve reporting processes utilizing reporting and automation tools.
• Analyze financial activity, identify variances, and provide recommendations to management.
• Assist with preparation of board, committee, and executive-level financial reporting.
• Support interim and annual financial reporting requirements.
• Coordinate endowment accounting processes and related journal entries.
• Reconcile investment activity and support investment-related disclosures.
• Support internal control documentation and monitoring.
• Lead and participate in strategic accounting projects.
