Job summary

Oyster HR is looking for a hands-on Senior Accountant to own day-to-day accounting, monthly reporting, and ERP activities for Oyster entities worldwide, with a focus on EMEA coverage. You will lead close processes, maintain controls, and partner with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financials.

The role is fully remote within the United States time zones and requires you to be based within +/- 4 UTC to align with global operations.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of accounting experience, including at least 1 year in a senior-accountant scope.

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle accounting and intercompany transactions for global subsidiaries.
• Prepare and review financial statements and balance-sheet reconciliations across multiple entities.
• Lead month-end and year-end close activities, maintaining checklists and documentation.
• Coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual local statutory filings and provide complete support packages.
• Oversee local statutory audits and resolve auditor questions and adjustments.
• Reconcile local statutory records to the ERP.
• Conduct financial analysis, identify trends or discrepancies, and present decision-useful insights.
• Own assigned ERP activities and improve accounting standards, controls, documentation, and automation.
• Proactively coordinate dependencies across Finance, Payroll, Tax, Legal, and external partners.
• Execute ad hoc financial projects and support junior teammates with practical guidance.
