Job summary

Oyster HR is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to manage full-cycle accounting for our global subsidiaries. You will lead month-end closes, intercompany transactions, and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance across entities.

This remote role requires at least five years in accounting and a CPA or equivalent qualification. You will coordinate with Finance, Payroll, Tax, and external auditors, driving process improvements and automation within our global platform.

Qualifications

• CPA or part-qualified or equivalent professional accounting qualification.

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle accounting for global subsidiaries.
• Prepare and review financial statements and balance-sheet reconciliations.
• Lead month-end and year-end close activities with checklists and documentation.
• Coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual local statutory filings and provide support packages.
• Oversee local statutory audits and respond to auditor questions and adjustments.
• Reconcile local statutory records to the ERP system.
• Perform financial analysis and present decision-useful insights.
• Own assigned ERP activities and improve accounting standards, controls, and automation.
• Coordinate dependencies across Finance, Payroll, Tax, Legal, and external partners.

The Role

Location: While this position is posted in a specific location, all of Oyster’s positions are fully remote and you can work from home. Forever. To create the best experience for our new hire, this role requires you to be based within -3 / - 8 UTC.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle accounting and intercompany transactions for global subsidiaries.
• Prepare and review financial statements and balance-sheet reconciliations across multiple entities.
• Lead month-end and year-end close activities, maintaining clear checklists and documentation.
• Coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual local statutory filings and provide complete support packages.
• Oversee local statutory audits and resolve auditor questions and adjustments.
• Reconcile local statutory records to the ERP
• Conduct financial analysis, identify trends or discrepancies, and present decision-useful insights.
• Own assigned ERP activities and improve accounting standards, controls, documentation, and automation.
• Proactively coordinate dependencies across Finance, Payroll, Tax, Legal, and external partners.
• Execute ad hoc financial projects and support junior teammates with practical guidance.

Core Requirements

• At least 5 years of accounting experience, including at least 1 year operating at senior-accountant scope.
• CPA (or part-qualified) or an equivalent professional accounting
