Job summary

Haga Kommer, Ltd. in Detroit Lakes, MN is seeking an experienced CPA who can take greater client ownership, lead complex tax engagements, and provide planning and advisory support.

You will work directly with clients, reviewing and preparing complex returns for individuals, partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, and trusts, while mentoring developing professionals as the Detroit Lakes office grows. The role emphasizes advisory services, collaboration with clients, and a path to leadership

Qualifications

• Active CPA license.
• 5+ years of recent public accounting tax experience preferred.
• Strong experience with individual and business taxation, including partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, individuals, and trusts/estates.
• Ability to prepare and review complex tax returns.
• Experience managing multiple client engagements and deadlines.
• Strong understanding of federal and state tax compliance and planning.
• Ability to research complex tax matters and communicate recommendations clearly.
• Strong client relationship skills and an advisory mindset.
• Ability to communicate directly and confidently with clients.
• Interest in mentoring and supporting developing professionals.
• UltraTax CS experience preferred.

What We're Looking For

• Active CPA license
