Job summary

Connexion Systems & Engineering is seeking a Senior Accountant with cost accounting and inventory experience to join their finance organization in Bedford, MA. This 100% onsite role focuses on inventory valuation and cost-of-sales reporting within a publicly traded medical device environment.

The role collaborates with Manufacturing, Operations, and Supply Chain to ensure accurate inventory accounting, standard costing, and strong internal controls, while supporting audits and process

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field is preferred.
• 4+ years of professional accounting experience.
• Experience in cost accounting, inventory accounting, or related functions.
• Strong understanding of inventory accounting and standard costing.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and analyze inventory valuation for raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods per U.S. GAAP.
• Analyze manufacturing variances: labor, overhead, material usage, purchase price.
• Review inventory transactions: receipts, transfers, adjustments.
• Reconcile and maintain inventory records; investigate discrepancies.
• Perform inventory and cost-of-sales analysis to support quarterly audits.
• Participate in annual physical inventories and cycle counts.
• Monitor inventory valuation; identify risks of excess/obsolete inventory.
• Develop inventory, operational, and product-line reporting.
• Prepare and analyze inventory performance metrics and tissue yield reporting.
• Support financial and operational analysis for a specialized product division.
• Partner with Operations and Supply Chain to improve inventory controls.
• Prepare transfer pricing analysis supporting global policies.
• Support SOX compliance and internal control initiatives.
• Participate in ERP and process improvement initiatives.

Description

We are seeking a Senior Accountant with cost accounting and inventory experience to join the finance organization of a publicly traded medical device company.

This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys working closely with manufacturing, operations, and supply chain and has a strong understanding of inventory accounting, standard costing, manufacturing variances, and financial controls.

You’ll support a specialized product division while playing a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of inventory and cost-of-sales reporting.

What You’ll Do

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
• 4+ years of professional accounting experience
• Experience in cost accounting, inventory accounting, or a closely related function
• Strong understanding of inventory accounting and standard costing
• Experience working with ERP systems
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables and VLOOKUPs
• Experience in a publicly traded or SOX-regulated environment strongly preferred
• Manufacturing or medical device experience preferred
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, and FP&A
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple priorities
