Job summary

Corpay in Brentwood, TN is seeking a Senior Accountant to lead month-end close activities for the Global Shared Services Accounting Department and coordinate with global subsidiaries.

You will drive journal entries, inter‑company eliminations, and internal controls, while mentoring junior staff and partnering with auditors. This role reports to the VP Assistant Corporate Controller and requires a detail-oriented, proactive mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate month-end close activities, including journal entries, inter-company eliminations, accruals, amortization, lease accounting, fixed assets and reconciliations
  • Ensure GAAP-compliant monthly, quarterly and year-end closes
  • Review monthly/quarterly reporting analyses and management reporting
  • Lead team members and projects within the Controller’s Department
  • Provide process improvement ideas to automate close and strengthen controls
  • Support internal and external auditors for year-end audit and collaborate with cross-functional global teams

What We Need

CORPAY is currently looking to hire a Senior Accountant within our Global Shared Services division. This position falls under our Finance and Accounting line of business and is located in Brentwood, TN. In this role, you will lead responsibilities of the company's Global Shared Services Accounting Department and manage close responsibilities with our global subsidiaries as well as work on key initiatives relating to critical processes. The ideal candidate should be motivated, a self-starter, detailed-oriented, strong in accounting concepts, have a willingness to learn and be a team player. You will report directly to VP Assistant Corporate Controller and regularly collaborate with the team and other departments.

How We Work

As a Senior Accountant you will be expected to work in an office environment. CORPAY will set you up for success by providing:

  • Assigned workspace in our Brentwood office (4 days in the office).
  • Company-issued equipment + remote access
Role Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Coordinate month-end close activities, including timely and accurate preparation of journal entries, inter-company elimination and balancing processes, expense accruals, prepaid amortization, lease accounting, fixed assets and account reconciliations
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end close in accordance with GAAP, company policies and controls
  • Review monthly and quarterly reporting analysis and other management reporting as assigned
  • Lead team members, projects and certain functions managed by the Controller’s Department
  • Provide thought leadership, continually evaluating and optimizing month-end close processes to deliver process automation and improved accuracy
  • Develop/enhance, implement and enforce accounting policies, internal controls, and procedures that will improve the overall operation and reduce risks of the business.
  • Support with internal and external auditors to ensure a clean and timely year end audit
  • Collaborate and partner with cross functionally with global departments on resolving month-end close activities and while working on strategic initiatives
  • Participate in special projects and perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 2+ years of experience in accounting roles
  • Effective communicator and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Solid organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to be self-directed and self-motivated
  • Ability to coordinate and work with business leaders in multiple locations
  • Ability to meet deadlines timely accurately in a high pace environment
  • Must be a hands-on, detail-oriented individual with ability to problem solve
  • The right person will be ambitious and flexible who wants to learn and grow professionally
  • Excellent Excel skills and willingness to learn new technical applications
