Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly general ledger entries (cash, prepaid, accruals, allocations, intercompany, leases).
• Manage fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
• Track and allocate costs across departments/cost centers.
• Prepare reconciliations and roll-forwards.
• Assist with balance sheet/income statement variance analysis.
• Support SEC quarterly review, annual audit, and SOX compliance.
• Handle sales & use tax, property tax, VAT filings; assist local audits.
• Identify and drive process improvements to increase accuracy and efficiency.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Accountant reports to the Accounting Manager and performs a variety of accounting responsibilities, while ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP), Sarbanes Oxley (SOX), and organization-wide policies and procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

• Prepare monthly general ledger entries: cash, prepaid, accruals, allocations, intercompany, and lease accounting.
• Manage fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
• Track and allocate costs associated with different departments and cost centers.
• Prepare account reconciliation and roll-forward schedules.
• Assist with monthly balance sheet and income statement variance analysis as needed.
• Assist with SEC quarterly review, annual audit, and SOX compliance.
• Prepare and file sales & use tax, business property tax, VAT, etc.
• Assist with local statutory audits and filings.
• Identify and drive process improvements to increase accuracy and efficiency.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• 5-7 plus years’ experience in a corporate accounting environment
• Experienced with accounting for complex business entities
• Strong knowledge of both statutory and GAAP
• Experience with annual accounting and SOX audits
• Working knowledge of NetSuite and Concur a plus.
• Intermediate or advanced Excel skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present clear analyses and discuss issues, and the capability to express thoughts clearly in both oral and written communications.
