Job summary

  • Experience with internal, external and SOX audits.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Capital Expenditure tracking and reporting. Prepare monthly fixed assets journal entries and reconciliation.
  • Analyze cost accounting data and assist with monthly cycle count / annual physical inventory count.
  • Assist Finance leadership in cost reduction recommendations and provide data for business decisions.
  • Prepare journal entries related to cost accounting during month-end, quarterly, and annual closes.
  • Prepare monthly inventory reconciliations and other COS-related accounts.
  • Assist Director of FP&A in planning and forecasting cost of sales, inventory and capex.
  • Lead special projects including new software implementations.
  • Analyze freight variances and monthly freight accruals; guide Accounts Payable.
  • Review open PO receipts to determine if receipt accrual adjustments are needed.
  • Support audits and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Position Summary

The Cost Accounting Manager is responsible for performing the day-to-day responsibilities of the Cost Accounting function, as well as performing related responsibilities associated with the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closes. The role is integral in supporting the continual growth of the Cost Accounting function and ensuring accurate and timely accounting and analysis.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
  • Manage Capital Expenditure tracking and reporting. Prepare monthly fixed assets journal entries and reconciliation.
  • Analyze cost accounting data and assist with monthly cycle count / annual physical inventory count. Plan and manage annual physical inventory and related adjustments.
  • Assist Finance leadership in the preparation and presentation of cost reduction recommendation and provide cost-related data in support of business decisions.
  • Prepare journal entries related to cost accounting as required during the month-end, quarterly, and annual close processes.
  • Prepare monthly inventory reconciliations and other accounts impacted by the Cost Accounting function.
  • Assist Director of FP&A in planning and forecasting the cost of sales, inventory and capital expenditures.
  • Manage special projects, including implementation of new software and processes.
  • Perform analysis of freight variances and related monthly freight accruals, providing guidance to Accounts Payable team.
  • Review open PO receipts not invoiced to determine if receipt accrual require adjustments
  • Foster working relationships cross-functionally, particularly with engineering, and procurement, and IT teams.
  • Manage inventory and COS related requests from the internal / external auditors, procurement and other departments.
  • Setup and lead the S&OP process working with the operations team.
  • Assist with internal, external and SOX audits.

The Job function listed is not exhaustive and shall also include any responsibilities as assigned by the manager from time to time.

Compensation:

Up to $140k + benefits + stock + 401k + bonus
