Job summary

Veta Virtual is hiring a Senior Accountant to support roofing and construction projects, including federally funded work. This hands-on role covers job costing, month-end close, and financial reporting in a fully remote, fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of accounting experience with U.S.-based companies, preferably CPA, and comfort communicating across remote teams. Compensation is in USD, with paid vacation and flexible work setup.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of accounting experience with U.S.-based companies (CPA preferred).
• Proven success managing external stakeholders in public accounting, client-facing, or construction accounting environments.
• Strong knowledge of construction or job-costed accounting practices and adaptability across multiple active projects.
• Experience with federal or government-funded project accounting (certified payroll, prevailing wage, or DCAA-related compliance) is a strong plus, training available.

Responsibilities

• Manage full accounting cycle for roofing and construction operations, including reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting.
• Apply job costing and WIP principles to track project profitability across multiple active jobs.
• Support percentage-of-completion revenue recognition and progress billing for residential, commercial, and federal projects.
• Make sound financial judgments in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Integrate and optimize external applications with QuickBooks Online to streamline accounting operations.
• Oversee accounts payable/receivable, expense management, subcontractor payments, and vendor/client interactions.
• Support compliance related to federally funded projects (certified payroll and prevailing wage) as needed; training provided if new.
• Stay current on emerging technologies and AI applications to enhance accounting efficiency.
