Job summary

Vaco by Highspring seeks an experienced accountant to own month-end close, perform journal entries, and reconcile accounts in a fast-paced environment. You will support audits and collaborate with AP/AR to optimize processes.

The role requires 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, solid GAAP knowledge, and strong Excel skills. Public accounting experience is highly preferred, with potential discretionary bonuses and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Public accounting experience highly preferred.
• Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and general accounting principles.
• Experience with month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.).
• Experience with ERP or accounting systems (NetSuite, Great Plains, or similar preferred).
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries and schedules for month-end close.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and research variances.
• Assist in preparation and review of financial statements and fluctuation analysis.
• Support internal and external audit requests with schedules and documentation.
• Coordinate with AP/AR to improve accounting processes.
• Maintain and improve accounting policies, procedures, and controls.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives and system enhancements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
