Job summary

HRB is seeking an experienced accounting professional in Tysons, VA to support critical financial operations and reporting. The role focuses on close processes, reconciliations, variance analysis, and collaboration with cross‑functional partners to improve accounting workflows.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, strong GAAP knowledge, and Advanced Excel skills, with CPA or public accounting background preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required or equivalent.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience managing complex reconciliations and close activities.
• Advanced Excel skills; CPA, CPA-track, or public accounting experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review month-end and year-end close activities
• Perform account reconciliations, including general ledger, bank, and balance sheet accounts
• Analyze financial results and investigate variances
• Assist with financial statement preparation and reporting
• Support audits and coordinate requests from external auditors
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls
• Partner with finance and operational leaders to improve accounting processes
• Assist with special projects, system implementations, and process improvements
