Ascendo Resources is seeking a Senior Accountant to provide leadership in the close process and enhance reporting and controls. This role offers visibility to leadership and the opportunity to drive improvements across accounting functions.

You will own month-end close, prepare journal entries, and collaborate with finance and operations to elevate financial reporting and efficiency. A strong GAAP background and advanced Excel skills are required.

Qualifications

• 3–6+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Advanced Excel skills with the ability to work through large data sets.
• Detail-oriented with a proactive, solutions-driven mindset.
• Experience owning month-end and year-end close is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive key aspects of the month-end and year-end close
• Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and internal reporting
• Analyze financial performance and investigate variances
• Support external audits, ensuring accuracy and compliance
• Identify and implement process improvements and control enhancements
• Collaborate cross-functionally with finance and operational teams
