Job summary

Foley, Incorporated is hiring a staff accountant to support general ledger activities and reporting in New Jersey. You will handle journal entries, month-end closes, reconciliations, and variance analyses while ensuring GAAP compliance and audit readiness.

The role requires 3–5 years in accounting or financial reporting, with strong Excel and ERP experience. You will collaborate with other departments to improve processes and support audits in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• 3-5 years of experience in indirect tax, accounting, or financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, general ledger accounting, and month-end close.
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems and audit support activities.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, allocations, reclassifications, payroll-related transactions, and other general ledger activities.
• Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close responsibilities with accuracy and deadlines.
• Manage assigned general ledger accounts, prepare reconciliations, investigate variances, and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare financial reports, supporting schedules, and analyses with explanations for fluctuations.
• Partner with internal departments to research issues, ensure accurate transaction coding and documentation.
• Maintain compliance with U.S. GAAP, company policies, controls, and audit requirements.
• Support audits and assist with process improvements and internal controls.
• Contribute to system enhancements, automation, and cross-functional collaboration.
