Job summary

Discovery Land Company in Scottsdale, AZ, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Finance and Accounting team. This role supports month-end and year-end close, prepares consolidated financial statements, and partners with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate reporting.

The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, strong GAAP knowledge, and proficiency with Sage Intacct and Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3-5 years progressive accounting experience in corporate or public accounting.
• Knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles.
• Experience with financial statement prep and consolidation.
• CPA or active pursuit preferred.
• Experience with multi-entity or intercompany accounting preferred.
• Exposure to external audit support.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close with journal entries and GL analysis.
• Record daily financial transactions and maintain general ledger.
• Prepare and reconcile balance sheets; resolve variances.
• Assist in consolidated financial statements and schedules.
• Manage AP/AR and reconcile ledger to subsidiary ledger.
• Support monthly financial reporting package for management.
• Support internal controls and process improvements.
• Coordinate with external auditors and provide schedules.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve accounting issues.
• Participate in special projects; adapt to fast-paced environment.
