Job summary

Georgia-Pacific is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to support the Building Products segment at our GP HQ in Atlanta, with a hybrid in-office schedule. You will partner with operations and finance to manage month-end close, reporting, and process improvements.

The ideal candidate has GAAP accounting experience, strong analytical skills, and the ability to drive efficiency through automation and better controls.

Qualifications

• Accounting/Finance role with GAAP knowledge and close attention to the GL.
• Strong communication via phone, email, chat, and video.
• Collaborative mindset to bridge gaps and solve problems.
• Process improvement mindset; adaptable in a dynamic environment.
• Experience with MS Office 365 and a willingness to learn new systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end close for Building Products; ensure GL accuracy.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations; investigate variances.
• Provide ad hoc analysis to Operating Management, Tax, Audit, etc.
• Own processes; drive innovative accounting workflows.
• Drive transformation using technology and automation.
• Support IFC framework; ensure control ownership.
• Promote PBM culture and company values.
