Job summary

Panthalassa, a renewable energy and ocean technology company based in Portland, Oregon, is seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant to own the month-end close and ensure accurate financial reporting as the company scales from R&D toward manufacturing.

You will manage reconciliations, asset accounting, ERP flows in NetSuite, and collaborate with engineering and procurement to codify spend, while leveraging AI and automation to improve accuracy and scalability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years accounting experience with month-end close ownership.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial statement linkage.
• Experience preparing journal entries and reconciliations.
• Proficient with NetSuite or similar ERP.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Clear communicator with internal and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Execute key month-end close tasks including entries and analyses.
• Own balance sheet reconciliations and resolve variances.
• Account for fixed assets and capital projects.
• Oversee NetSuite flow of transactions and expense coding.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and procurement to codify spend.
• Resolve payment and invoice issues with internal teams and vendors.
• Identify manual workflows and drive automation and ERP improvements.
• Build controls and documentation for auditability and scalability.
• Lead audit, tax, and compliance deliverables.
• Maintain high standards of accuracy, confidentiality, and ownership.
