Job summary

Latigo Biotherapeutics seeks a hands-on Senior Accountant to support a growing accounting function with strong GAAP expertise. You will manage general accounting areas, R&D and CMC accruals, and lead journal entries, reconciliations, and monthly close.

The role requires collaboration across teams to prepare schedules, support audits, and implement AI-driven process improvements aimed at strengthening internal controls and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, general ledger, reconciliations, and internal controls.
• CPA preferred.
• Biotechnology, life sciences, CMC or R&D accrual experience preferred.
• Experience with NetSuite required; Prendio, Coupa and Expensify beneficial.
• Strong Excel, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage general accounting areas such as R&D and CMC accruals and other liabilities, among others
• Support the team in various other financial reporting activities while ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies
• Prepare related journal entries, reconciliations, roll forwards, supporting schedules, and flux analyses
• Cross collaboration with other functions to obtain critical inputs and assumptions for monthly accrual determination
• Analyze financial results, account activity, and balance sheet reconciliations while identifying and resolving accounting issues, unusual transactions, and reporting variances
• Support internal and external audits by preparing audit schedules, responding to auditor requests, and ensuring timely completion of audit requirements
• Help drafting accounting policies and SOPs and keeping them current
• Use AI, automation and process simplification to identify and implement process improvements that strengthen financial reporting, accounting controls, operational efficiency, and compliance
