Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, GL accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, and internal controls.
• CPA preferred.
• Biotechnology, life sciences, CMC or R&D accrual experience preferred.
• Experience supporting system implementations, workflow automation, data validation, or AI-enabled tools is a plus.
• Experience with NetSuite required; Prendio/Coupa/Expensify beneficial.
• Strong Excel, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor requests.
• Help drafting accounting policies and SOPs and keep them current.
• Use AI, automation and process improvements to strengthen financial reporting and controls.

Position Summary
Latigo Biotherapeutics is seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant with strong general accounting experience to support the Company’s growing accounting function.
Key Responsibilities

• Manage general accounting areas such as R&D and CMC accruals and other liabilities, among others
• Support the team in various other financial reporting activities while ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies
• Prepare related journal entries, reconciliations, roll forwards, supporting schedules, and flux analyses
• Cross collaboration with other functions to obtain critical inputs and assumptions for monthly accrual determination
• Analyze financial results, account activity, and balance sheet reconciliations while identifying and resolving accounting issues, unusual transactions, and reporting variances
• Support internal and external audits by preparing audit schedules, responding to auditor requests, and ensuring timely completion of audit requirements
• Help drafting accounting policies and SOPs and keeping them current
• Use AI, automation and process simplification to identify and implement process improvements that strengthen financial reporting, accounting controls, operational efficiency, and compliance
