Job summary

Synchron is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our San Diego finance team. This is a hands-on role covering month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and cross-functional collaboration to support financial reporting and operational objectives.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in accounting, Big 4 experience preferred, and a background in biotech or life sciences. On-site work in San Diego is required, with advanced Excel and NetSuite proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting.
• Big 4 experience strongly preferred.
• Biotechnology or life sciences industry experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with month-end close and financial statement analysis.

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and schedules.
• Analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts and investigate variances.
• Process payroll and review payroll information for accounting.
• Review and supervise accounts payable and period-end processes.
• Prepare financial reporting packages and assist with audits.
