Job summary

4D Molecular Therapeutics is seeking a Senior Accountant to own daily accounting operations, monthly close, and cash management. The role partners with Finance, Procurement, HR, and Operations to ensure accurate reporting and strong internal controls in a fast-paced, growing biotech environment.

This is a hybrid role with at least weekly in-office presence. The ideal candidate has 4+ years of public company accounting experience in life sciences, solid GAAP knowledge, and proficiency with

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience in publicly traded biotech or life sciences.
• Experience with monthly close, reconciliations, cash management, and operational accounting.
• SOX compliance and external audits; Big 4 a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting operations and monthly close.
• Prepare journal entries and reconciliations; supporting schedules.
• Perform bank reconciliations and cash forecasting.
• Manage fixed assets, depreciation, and ASC 842 lease accounting.
• Support SOX compliance and external audits; coordinate with partners across finance, procurement, HR and operations.
